Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 7th International Symposium for Surgery of Upper Limb Spasticity (SGSPASTIC 2027), to be held from 25–27 February 2027 at The Academia, Singapore General Hospital, Singapore.

This meeting has established itself as the premier international forum for specialists dedicated to improving the lives of patients affected by upper limb spasticity. The scientific programme brings together leading voices from hand surgery, neurosurgery, rehabilitation medicine and therapy, offering a unique multidisciplinary perspective on this complex and rapidly evolving field.

Held for the first time in Asia, this symposium is particularly timely. Asia is home to more than half of the world's population and bears a substantial burden of stroke and neurological disability. SGSPASTIC 2027 provides an important opportunity to examine the challenges faced across the region, share expertise from around the world, and highlight the growing experience and innovations emerging from Asia.

Over two and a half intensive days, we will explore the latest advances in assessment and outcome measurement, surgical management—from tendon transfers to nerve surgery—and cutting-edge developments in technology, robotics and post-operative rehabilitation. Live cadaveric surgical demonstrations and live patient examinations will complement the scientific sessions, providing practical learning and opportunities for discussion for surgeons and clinicians at all levels of experience.

Singapore provides an ideal setting for this meeting: a global hub for medical excellence, research and innovation, with world-class facilities and the warmth and energy of one of Asia's most dynamic cities. We hope you will also find time to experience all that Singapore has to offer.

We look forward to welcoming you in February 2027 for two and a half days of learning, debate, collaboration and friendship, and to the rich scientific exchange and lasting collegial bonds that have always characterised the international spasticity surgery community.

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts must be submitted in English. Maximum word count: 500 words. Structured abstracts are preferred (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion).

Accepted abstracts will be published in the digital conference proceedings. Presentations may be oral (8 min + 4 min discussion), e-posters (pdf) or video (3 min). The scientific committee reserves the right to assign the presentation format.

Each registrant may submit a maximum of 2 abstracts as presenting author.
